Information regarding the game Tarisland – the game that was supposed to finally surpass World of Warcraft and was advertised at every possible opportunity as the one that is fair and without any Pay-To-Win elements, where buying power with real money would not be possible – turned out to be something similar to Diablo Immortal, where everything, the entire game, revolves around spending real cash. The developers recently changed their promotional descriptions of the game and released a statement saying that, in their understanding, Pay-To-Win only applies when purchasing an item directly in the store for cash. However, if you buy premium currency with which you can acquire materials to upgrade your character or specific armor and weapons, then it is not considered Pay-To-Win in their view.

Furthermore, the game features a seasonal system where new sets of items with higher power levels will be added each season. As we know, a season lasts for three months, and an average player who diligently completes all possible dungeons, farms, and so on will only be able to fully upgrade two items out of a dozen or so within a month. This means that, for the season, an average player will have two items fully upgraded and the rest at 50% of their potential. In contrast, someone who spends money on the game will already have 100% power on each item.

This information comes from both the game developers and players who reached the maximum level during beta testing.

In conclusion, we should discard the game into the trash before it’s even released. Forget about it if anyone was still wondering. As for me, I’ll move it to the “Trash Games” category on my blog.
